40-Hour Basic Mediation Training with Co-Parenting Focus
This basic mediation class is designed for beginning mediators looking to build their skill set to tackle concerns in co-parenting mediation. Current mediators seeking CEU or MCLE credits can use this course to fulfill continuing education requirements.
The course curriculum is lecture and discussion based supplemented with interactive learning exercises and role-plays.
The following skills are addressed in the class:
- a. communication skills;
- b. active listening skills;
- c. conflict resolution theory;
- d. psychological issues in separation, divorce, and family dynamics;
- e. intimate partner violence;
- f. civil dispute negotiation;
- g. family law; and
- h. professional ethics.
Completion of this course will qualify participants with appropriate post-graduate credentials for consideration and placement on the Idaho State Supreme Court’s Child Custody Roster as per Idaho Rule of Family Law Procedure 602 & 603. Certified by the Idaho State Bar, MCLEs are pending for 2019.

CANCELLATION / NO SHOW POLICY: If a participant withdraws from the class with a valid reason, 15 days prior to the first class, a full refund will be issued. If a participant withdraws from the class 10 days prior to the class only 1/2 of the registration fee will be refunded. No refunds will be issued if a participant withdraws from the class less than 7 days prior to the first class.
