Basic Civil Mediation - University of Idaho
BASIC CIVIL MEDIATION, co-taught by Lela Porter Love and Josh Stulberg, is a 40-hour course that explores conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation theory through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, exercises and role-plays. The course will look at each stage of the mediation process and various attendant strategies and skills. Participants gain a deeper understanding of both conflict and the dynamics, benefits, constraints, and skills needed in third-party intervention in settling disputes.

- Confidentiality in mediation and its limitations
- Legal and policy issues in mediation
- The impact of cultural and other diversity on conflict and conflict resolution
- Mediator orientation and styles
- Ethical issues in mediation
Both instructors bring a wide range of knowledge and experience to this course and will ensure a fruitful learning experience.

A seven (7) days’ notice is required if you must cancel
your registration. You will receive a full refund, less
a $75 administration fee. There is no refund for
cancellations received less than seven days before the
start of the training. Substitutes allowed.
On-site registration and sign-ins are Monday, May 16
from 7:00 to 8 a.m.
FEES: $955 - Fees cover the cost of course materials,
continental breakfast and certificate of completion.
LODGING: Not included.
CREDIT: Approval for Idaho CLE credits pending.
