Basic Forty-Hour/Co-Parenting Focus Mediation Training
Anyone thinking of pursuing a career in mediation, or wanting to add mediation skills to their current job skill set, should take the 40-Hour Basic Mediation Course / Child Custody Focus. CLEs are pending.
This class is the foundation class required of mediators in Idaho. The standards required for this type of training include: Conflict Resolution Theory; Psychological issues in separation, divorce and family dynamics; Screening for Domestic Violence; Issues and needs of children and clients; Mediation processes and techniques; Family law, including custody and child support calculation; Ethics and preventing ethical dilemmas; and Interactive situational role-play.Three texts are required/class manuals and handouts are provided. Texts include The Mediator’s Handbook 4th Edition by Jennifer Beer & Caroline Packard; Mom’s House Dad’s House by Isolina Ricci, Ph.D. and The Unexpected Legacy of Divorce: The 25-Year Landmark Study by Judith Wallerstein, etal. All textbooks are available through Amazon at a reasonable price.
Intended Audience: This course is for lawyers, judges, social workers, nurses, educators, law enforcement, and anyone interested in adding mediation to their career skills..
When: June 26, 27, & 28, 2015; and July 10, 11, & 12, 2015:
Two weekends consisting of Friday nights 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., and Saturdays/Sundays 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

CANCELLATION / NO SHOW POLICY: If a participant withdraws from the class with a valid reason, 15 days prior to the first class, a full refund will be issued. If a participant withdraws from the class 7 days prior to the class only 1/2 of the registration fee will be refunded. No refunds will be issued if a participant withdraws from the class less than 7 days prior to the first class. These terms are negotiable.
