The core insight is that challenging behaviors like aggression, withdrawal, or rigidity typically serve a psychological function — masking fear, overwhelm, or a sense of powerlessness — and that understanding the &lt;em&gt;why&lt;/em&gt;&amp;nbsp;behind the behavior is the key to managing it effectively.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
